DNV — "The Great Transition"
Six-minute corporate documentary plus eighteen-minute extended cut. Localized into German and Spanish. Full human-in-the-loop workflow.
The brief
DNV produced a cinematic corporate documentary on the global energy transition — a six-minute headline film and an eighteen-minute extended cut, designed to reach stakeholders, partners, and the public across multiple markets. The films needed to be localized to broadcast quality without losing the cinematic tone of the original.
Languages delivered
German · Spanish (both films, both cuts)
The workflow
- English source transcription — the cinematic master with all in-vision and voice-over content captured at frame accuracy.
- Adaptation translation — not literal translation, but adaptation that preserved pacing, register, and the documentary's narrative weight.
- Subtitle adaptation — timed to the cinematic edit, reviewed for readability at broadcast pacing.
- Dubbing script — refined for lip-sync where on-screen speakers required it, and for naturalness in voice-over passages.
- Native voice talent — auditioned and directed in-studio to match the brand and tone of the original.
- Broadcast-grade post-production — full mix, level-match to original, delivery in production-ready formats.
No AI shortcuts at any stage. Every step was handled by a vetted human specialist. The final cuts shipped to DNV's full production standard.
The outcome
Both films were delivered on schedule and approved at first review. The German and Spanish versions now sit alongside the English original in DNV's "Great Transition" programme.
